While city lights glow brightly through the night... there remain many rural areas where, once the sun dips below the horizon, darkness swiftly falls over everything.
In a remote area of Mae Hong Son Province, the children of Ban Tee Hue Lue School have long lived with total darkness once the sun sets. Winding mountain roads and unlit surroundings across the campus have made evening commuting and nighttime activities exceptionally difficult.
This time, MODI SOLAR’s “Igniting Hope, Starting from 1%” project journeyed into this mountainous region, bringing light and hope directly to the students and staff of Ban Tee Hue Lue School.
We Don’t Just Install Lights—We Start by Understanding Real Needs
For MODI SOLAR, giving back is never about handing out products randomly. We prioritize understanding the genuine needs of each community before starting any installation.
Before setting out, our team consulted closely with the school to survey their grounds, ensuring our lighting layouts would fit the terrain and everyday routines.
Children must travel along rugged mountain roads, making reliable, well-designed lighting essential.
Activity grounds and sports fields require adequate brightness so students can play safely.
Walkways and perimeter areas surrounding buildings must be well-lit to give everyone greater ease and confidence when walking after dark.
With this vision, MODI SOLAR stepped forward, dedicating our products and technical expertise to help uplift this school.
From Pitch Darkness to Nights Filled with Light
Once the installation was complete, the transformation across the school grounds was immediate and remarkable:
Solar floodlights illuminate the main activity grounds.
-Solar streetlights brighten the front of school buildings and key pedestrian paths.
-Spotlights provide focused coverage across sports fields and walkways.
-Meanwhile, the main entrance gates and school signage were adorned with decorative strip lights, enhancing both aesthetics and welcoming warmth.
Where pitch blackness once swallowed the campus at sundown,
nights at Ban Tee Hue Lue School are now filled with bright, dependable light.
This is far more than physical illumination from fixtures—it is the light of safety, confidence, and reassurance throughout the community.
Because Children’s Smiles Are Lights of Their Own
Seeing the new lights turn on, the children's eyes beamed with excitement and genuine delight.
Beyond providing solar lighting systems, MODI SOLAR also brought thoughtful gifts to share joy with the children—including colorful toys and comfortable sandals so they can run and play with greater comfort and freedom.
We believe that meaningful aid is not limited to basic physical necessities, but extends to seeing children happy, hearing their laughter, and helping them enjoy their childhood to the fullest.
One of the most touching moments for our team was hearing from the school director:
“Previously, nighttime was extremely dark and unsafe, and the kids rarely dared to step outside. But now, after classes, they can linger under the lights for a while before going home—playing soccer and chatting happily together.”
